Arsenal’s Joel Campbell shoots over
Arsenal have taken the surprise decision to dispense with the services of Joel Campbell for 2016/17.
The club announced on their official website Campbell has been loaned out to Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon.

The loan is Campbell’s fifth since signing for the club, following spells at Lorient in France, Real Betis in Spain, Olympiakos in Greece, and Villarreal in Spain.
Last season he seemed to have made his big breakthrough, scoring an impressive goal against Swansea, and helping them stage a fightback in their Champions League group to qualify for the last 16.
His endeavour saw him win the faith of the fans, but he managed to lose Arsene Wenger’s trust as the season wore on, and now it seems the Frenchman has no use for him.

This is despite Campbell’s versatility, and Arsenal’s need for players in forward areas, while the likes of Theo Walcott flatter to deceive.
The loan asks further questions over Campbell’s long term prospects at the Gunners, and is surprising considering he scored twice in a pre-season game just a fortnight ago.
