Arsenal defender was back in the starting line up at The Emirates.

Very few would disagree with the assertion that Carl Jenkinson is fortunate to still be an Arsenal player.
Injuries and poor loan spells at West Ham and then Birmingham have seen him fall a long way from a prospect who Arsene Wenger once tipped to become a Gunners great.
Remarkably he outlasted Wenger and is still being picked by new boss Unai Emery.
Last night he started the Europa League game against Sporting Clube de Portugal.
Jenkinson was substituted after an hour and while Arsenal did not concede during his time on the pitch, he did little to inspire confidence.

His cause was not helped by an attempt to volley a shot from outside the box which he horribly mis-kicked and it ended up behind him.
Arsenal were in a strong position going into the game and had leeway to qualify even with defeat.
New boss Emery is clearly trying to discover if he can do anything with Jenkinson and get him back to the player who was once called up by England.
Fans are not as patient with the full-back and feel it is time for the club to part ways with the defender.
Here is a look at the reaction to his performance…
