Arsenal linked midfielder Arturo Vidal put in a sensational performance for Chile against Mexico.
Arturo Vidal showed exactly why Arsenal are linked with his services, with a sensational performance in the Copa America.
The midfielder netted twice and provided one assist for Chile against Mexico, although it still was not enough to help them to a win, with the game ending in a 3-3 draw.
Vidal was a tour-de-force, creating three chances and winning six aerial duels, more than any other player in the team
Playing alongside Charles Aranguiz, a player linked to Arsenal by Chilean outlet PrensaFutbol earlier this year, Vidal was at his very best, and linked up effectively with Gunners ace Alexis Sanchez.
The pair share the same agent, with The Mirror reporting, citing sources in South America, that Arsenal are close to agreeing a deal for Vidal with Juventus, which would move forward after the Copa America tournament in his homeland.
Vidal has now scored in successive games for hosts Chile, and has been their best player in the tournament to date.
A move to the Gunners would be huge for their title ambitions for next season, and show their rivals they once again mean business.
There was a mixed reaction to Vidal’s display in the Champions League final from Arsenal fans, but this time around it was unanimous as the Chilean overshadowed teammate Sanchez.
