Arsenal target Alvaro Morata was in action for Real Madrid tonight, and was on the scoresheet, but what did Gunners fans make of his display?
With Madrid leading Schalke 6-1 from the first leg, manager Carlo Ancelotti took the opportunity to rest some players and give fringe players an opportunity in the first team – and that included centre forward Morata, who has been linked with a move to Arsenal for some time now.
The 21-year-old made the most of his chance in the first team, scoring the third goal in Real’s 3-1 second leg triumph over the Bundesliga outfit and enhancing his claim for a role in the starting line-up on a more regular basis.
But whilst the goal will have helped his cause, it wasn’t Morata’s finest game and it seems Arsenal fans on Twitter were torn over the striker – some suggested that he had a lot of potential and that the Gunners should make another move in te summer, whilst others felt the Spanish Under-21 international was overrated and Arsene Wenger should steer clear.
