Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s first game for Liverpool after leaving Arsenal did not go to plan.

Club football has not agreed with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain over the past fortnight.
The England international was beaten 4-0 a fortnight ago for Arsenal against Liverpool – and then this weekend for Liverpool after his big money transfer, his team were thrashed 5-0 by Manchester City.
Oxlade-Chamberlain was a half-time substitute at The Etihad, replacing Mohamed Salah.

The midfielder joined a team already down to 10 men after Sadio Mane’s sending off, with Liverpool already 2-0 down.
Oxlade-Chamberlain was chasing his tail all afternoon as his side conceded another three goals and barely got a look in.
The midfielder managed just 17 touches in 45 minutes and did not offer a shot on goal or create a goalscoring opportunity.
Perhaps it is just bad luck for the 24-year-old to be on the wrong end of two maulings in quick succession, and it will certainly be humbling.
Arsenal fans were certainly amused at his bad luck after exiting the club, while they got back on track with a 3-0 win at home to a poor Bournemouth side.
Here is a look at the Arsenal supporter reaction to Oxlade-Chamberlain’s Liverpool debut – as ruthless as you would expect…
