It has been a wonderful few months for Arsenal winger Alex Iwobi.

The 20-year-old looks to have cemented his place in the Gunners best XI under Arsene Wenger after starting Arsenal’s last five games in all competitions – four wins.

And the Nigeria international has taken the opportunity with both hands by grabbing three assists in the Premier League – three more than team-mate Mesut Ozil.

Iwobi brought his club form to the international scene, it seems, by scoring in the 2-1 win in Zambia for World Cup 2018 qualifying.

The Arsenal man opened the scoring on 33 minutes with a volley from inside the box which, in truth, should have been saved, but Iwobi will not have cared.

And fans of the North London club offered their congratulations to their club’s rising star on Twitter afterwards.

One word that sums up Iwobi’s time at Arsenal so far is fearless. He broke into the side in the final few months of last season and, despite the fact he was 19, played with a maturity well beyond his years, which is perhaps why he is where he is now.

Barring injury or fatigue, Iwobi will be back in Arsenal’s first XI next Saturday when Wenger’s side host Swansea City at the Emirates Stadium.
