Arsenal’s arch enemy Jose Mourinho is back in the Premier League with Manchester United, having haunted them repeatedly at Chelsea.
Chelsea Manager Jose Mourinho and Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger clash
Bitter rivals Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho are set to resume their rivalry after Manchester United confirmed via their official website that the controversial ex-Chelsea boss has been appointed as manager.
Mourinho brings with him a proven track record of success and will look immediately to get Manchester United back into Premier League title contention
No manager in the league will be as unhappy to see Mourinho back as Arsene Wenger, who has never beaten his rival in the Premier League – his only victory coming in the Community Shield.
The pair also had an angry touchline bust-up in 2015, while Mourinho has been highly critical of the Frenchman’s inability to land a title over the last decade, and ruined Wenger’s 1,000th game in charge of the Gunners by leading Chelsea to a 6-0 win.

Arsene Wenger has though achieved what Jose Mourinho has failed to do at any of his clubs, longevity – and despite Champions League success with two sides, the new Manchester United boss is yet to settle.
This could be his opportunity to do so, but he will need to prove he can maintain sustained success and not repeat the mistakes of his final campaign at Chelsea, fired in December despite entering the season with one of the seemingly most secure jobs in the Premier League.
