New Arsenal boss Unai Emery has made significant changes to his backroom team this week.

It is all change at Arsenal after Emery confirmed his coaching setup for next season with Juan Carlos Carcedo joining Steve Bould as one of two assistant head coaches, as announced on the club’s official website.

Many of previous manager Arsene Wenger’s first-team coaches have moved on with former Premier League-winning goalkeeper Jens Lehmann among the most notable departures.

Long-term Gunners staff Neil Banfield, Tony Colbert, Gerry Peyton and Boro Primorac have also left the club as part of the shake-up as well as the North Londoners’ head of medical services Colin Lewin.

It comes as part of a busy summer for Arsenal with lots of upheaval.

Jack Wilshere’s future remains unclear despite the club offering the popular midfielder a new deal while Stephan Lichtsteiner and Bernd Leno have been Emery’s first signings.

While it remains to be seen what impact the backroom staff shake-up will have at Arsenal long-term, fans are not happy with certain aspects judging by the reactions on social media.

Many are sorry to see invincible Lehmann leave while Bould – a figure who divides opinion amongst fans when it comes to his role as a coach – was kept on.
