The Spaniard has only played six times for Arsenal since his move from La Liga.
Arsenal’s Lucas Perez
Arsenal striker Lucas Perez is set for a spell on the sidelines after coming off in the League Cup win over Reading, with the Guardian reporting that it could be as much as six weeks out of the team.
Perez has enjoyed a mixed start to his career at the Emirates since making a big money move from Deportivo La Coruna, but came off in 72nd minutes with an ankle problem during the 2-0 win. Wenger is expected to confirm the severity of his new signing’s injury on Friday.
The Spaniard has made just the single start in the Premier League, and is still yet to net from his three appearances. Perez has demonstrated his form in both the League Cup and the Champions League though, scoring twice and assisting in the 4-0 win over Nottingham Forest, and also setting up two goals in the Gunners’ rout of Ludogorets earlier this month.

However, with Arsene Wenger surely eager to gradually bring the 28-year-old up to the speed of top flight English football, it will be particularly disappointing news.
Olivier Giroud is returning to fitness after his own injury struggles, so Perez may find himself further from the first team when he returns than he has been at the start of the season.
Arsenal fans reacted on Twitter to the news that their striker may not be back until midway through December:
