According to a report from the Guardian, French champions Paris Saint-Germain have tabled a £25 million bid for Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin.
The Spaniard has had his fair share of injuries over the last few years. Bellerin has not quite fulfilled the potential he showed as a teenager under Arsene Wenger all those years ago.
However, he is still a very good right-back and, if he can stay fit, he has the quality to be among the best in the league. It is no surprise that PSG are looking at someone like Bellerin who is still a few years away from his peak.
The French champions once again failed to pass the final hurdle in the Champions League last season. PSG’s main goal over the last few years has been to win Europe’s elite competition and, after getting so close last term, they will try to go all the way next year.
Bellerin is still only 25 but already has lots of experience under his belt. The Arsenal defender has played over 200 times for the Gunners over the last seven years and he still has three years left on his current deal.
Arsenal’s finances have been hit hard by the pandemic and player sales are extremely important for them to raise funds to complete deals for their other targets.

The report claims that Mikel Arteta would like to keep hold of Bellerin but, if the right offer arrives, he is open to letting him leave this summer.
It really is a hard one for Arsenal supporters. Bellerin was viewed by many as a future captain of the club. He even showed the potential to be one of the best right-backs in the world at one point, although his injuries have slowed him down.
As difficult a decision as it is, it is one Arsenal have to make. If a small downgrade at right-back makes way for a massive upgrade in midfield, the Gunners have to cash in on Bellerin this summer; although PSG will have to pay much more than £25 million.
