According to Goal, more than five Bundesliga clubs are interested in signing Arsenal’s Konstantinos Mavropanos this summer.

The 22-year-old Greek defender is currently on loan at Bundesliga 2 side Nurnberg, where he has been the standout performer.

Mavropanos struggled with injuries during his time at Arsenal and it seemed right for him to get some experience elsewhere.

He has played 10 games for Nurnberg so far and has been one of their best players. His performances have caught the attention of clubs from Germany’s top-tier who are preparing a bid to sign him once the transfer window opens.

Arsenal, like many other clubs, are expected to struggle for cash due to everything that has been going on in the world over the last few months.

The Gunners might have to depend on selling players to raise funds this summer and Mavropanos might just be sacrificed as a result.

Mikel Arteta’s side have a number of options in central defence. David Luiz. Sokratis, Shkodran Mustafi, Rob Holding, Calum Chambers are all available at the moment with Pablo Mari currently on loan.

Young William Saliba will join the lot in the summer which takes the tally to eight centre-halves once Mavropanos returns from his current loan spell.

One, two or even three of them might have to be sold for the Gunners to keep the balance in their squad but Arsenal fans feel that Mavropanos deserves a chance before the club get rid of him.

Many supporters feel he will become incredible in the Bundesliga just like former Gunner Serge Gnabry – something that hurts Arsenal fans till date.
