Arsenal and Mikel Arteta have a lot of issues to deal with, both on and off the pitch. The Gunners’ performances have been up and down since their new boss’ appointment but the question marks around certain areas have remained the same.
One such issue is around Mesut Ozil. The German divides opinion among every football fan across the country. The former Real Madrid man has had problems with managers ever since Arsene Wenger left the club two years ago.
Unai Emery chose not to use him regularly earlier in the season while interim boss Freddie Ljungberg also had some strong words to say about his behavior.
Arteta’s arrival was thought to be a blessing for Ozil and it sure started that way. The German was a regular feature under the Spaniard before the lockdown but things haven’t been the same since.
Ozil is yet to play a single minute of football since the restart. Arteta, at first, questioned his attitude after dropping him for the opening game against Manchester City.
The German returned to the bench later but a supposed back problem has kept him out of the squad for a while now. Arteta, in his press conference earlier today, said nothing has changed with respect to Ozil’s situation at the club. (Arsenal.com)
That meant that he is likely to remain on the sidelines for Wednesday’s clash against Liverpool but there might be a twist in the tale.

Arsenal released pictures of their training and many fans were surprised to see Ozil involved for the first time in a few weeks.
That puts an end to the rumours about his back issue but has he convinced Arteta that his attitude is right to feature again for Arsenal before the end of this season?
Some Arsenal fans would love to see him back in action against Liverpool at the Emirates on Wednesday.
