Arsenal picked up an impressive win on Tuesday night, beating Southampton 3-1 at St Mary’s Stadium.

The Gunners actually fell behind early on as Stuart Armstrong fired home James Ward-Prowse’s corner, but Mikel Arteta’s men rallied.

Granit Xhaka picked out Nicolas Pepe to equalise with a fine left-footed finished, before Bukayo Saka rounded Alex McCarthy and put Arsenal ahead.

Saka then found Alexandre Lacazette to make it 3-1, sealing a very impressive victory on the South Coast.

There were a number of impressive displays during Arsenal’s win, and a former Southampton player was particularly excellent.

Cedric Soares started the game at left back in place of the injured Kieran Tierney, and turned in one of his best performances for the club.

Some have criticised Edu’s move to sign Cedric over the last year, feeling that he hasn’t offered all that much to the Gunners.

Now though, fans have taken to Twitter to admit that they have been proven wrong by the Portuguese defender.

Some believe that Cedric was ‘brilliant’ and ‘immense’ against his former club last night, and seemingly want to see more of him going forward after such a fine display.
