The maligned veteran Arsenal defender turned 35 today.

Arsenal fans on Twitter are in no mood to wish Stephan Lichtsteiner happy birthday it seems.
The veteran right-back turned 35 today and Arsenal’s official Twitter account highlighted this fact by wishing him a happy birthday.
But it didn’t exactly go to plan.
Instead of doing what the Gunners’ social media manager asked, plenty of fans mocked the former Juventus man.
Here are some ruthless tweets from supporters:
Talk about bursting someone’s balloon.
Much of the vitriol stems from what happened during Lichtsteiner’s last Premier League appearance for Arsenal – the 5-1 defeat at Liverpool.
The Switzerland international had a shocker against Sadio Mane who terrorised him for 90 minutes.
Then again, Lichtsteiner didn’t pick himself. It was a tactical fault on behalf of head coach Unai Emery. With Mane’s speed, it was always going to be a horror show for the defender and perhaps it’s Emery who deserves most blame for his player’s struggle.
