Arsenal fans have been left furious after Unai Emery suggested that he wouldn’t name his five captains yet.
Arsenal have seemingly suffered with a lack of leadership this season, but Emery does not want to address that particular concern right now.
Arsenal have a match against Eintracht Frankfurt to contend with later this evening, and Emery says he won’t name his captains until next week now.
“I am going to propose to do it next week after the match on Tuesday after the Carabao Cup,” Emery told Football London.
The comments have not gone down at all well with Arsenal supporters, who feel that Emery should have made it an issue of importance.
Emery is facing growing criticism at Arsenal, as their defensive issues still not appear to have been solved.
The Gunners threw away a 2-0 lead against Watford at the weekend, with their performance in the contest very poor.
Arsenal are currently in seventh place in the Premier League table, and they will need to climb higher in the coming weeks if Emery is to silence the doubters.
Arsenal’s next domestic game comes against Aston Villa, after they take on Frankfurt later.
