Arsenal played out a 0-0 draw with Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon, but substitute Alexandre Lacazette made a positive impact.

The Gunners were hoping to build on the 3-1 win over rivals Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.

However, they couldn’t break down a resilient Brighton side, meaning they had to settle for a point.

The flip side is that Arsenal again kept a clean sheet. That’s three in the last four Premier League games, so Mikel Arteta will be pleased.

Arsenal unable to click going forward

Arsenal just couldn’t quite find the opening to break Brighton down.

Emile Smith Rowe forced a fine save from Robert Sanchez in the second half, but it just wasn’t to be.

Arteta did try and change the flow of the game by bringing on Alexandre Lacazette for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang up top.

Lacazette looked bright in his brief spell on the pitch, and Arsenal fans were impressed.

Arsenal fans react to Lacazette display

Arsenal supporters have been taking to Twitter to react to the Frenchman’s performance, with some believing he should have been picked ahead of Aubameyang anyway.

Some feel that Lacazette is ‘streets ahead’ of Aubameyang thanks to his hold-up ability.

Others think Lacazette was Arsenal’s best player against Brighton and immediately made the team better.

There are now calls for Arteta to start Lacazette more regularly, even with his contract running down…
