Well, Daniel Ek has certainly opened pandora’s box by declaring his interest in buying Arsenal.
After tweeting his desire to buy Stan Kroenke out of Arsenal last Friday, the Spotify founder effectively ensured that he can never post anything on Twitter again without swathes of Gooners hijacking the response section of said tweet.
And that is what happened on Friday.
In a non-Arsenal-related message, the 38-year-old billionaire received hundreds of pleas from fans of the North London club.
Earlier this week, the Swede revealed during an interview with CNBC that he was ‘very serious’ about buying the Emirates Stadium club, whom he has supported since he was eight years old.
There is definitely a feeling among Arsenal supporters that Ek, despite his billions, is one of their own.
And here’s how some fans responded to his latest post on Twitter:
In the same interview, Ek added that he was readying a bid after raising the funds to launch a takeover, with some reports claiming it’s around £1.8 billion.
The problem is that Kroenke Sports Entertainment released a statement this week stating that they had no intention of selling the club to anybody.
Arsenal fans are clearly desperate to see the end of Kroenke, particularly after the botched European Super League venture.
But this one could run and run for months and even then, there’s no guarantee Ek will be successful.
One guarantee, though: Arsenal fans won’t stop responding to him on social media.
