Arsenal are through to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup having beaten Liverpool on penalties on Thursday evening.
The Gunners lost 3-1 at Anfield on Monday night, but headed back to Merseyside for another crack at Jurgen Klopp’s side last night.
Mikel Arteta unsurprisingly rang the changes for the game, and his side battled well but had to ride their luck at times, with Takumi Minamino hitting the crossbar after Bernd Leno had kept out Diogo Jota.
Leno made further saves from Virgll van Dijk and Jota again, and Rob Holding forced a fine save from Adrian, with the game heading to penalties.
Mohamed Elneny’s effort was saved by Adrian, but Leno responded by saving Divock Origi’s effort, and when Leno saved Harry Wilson’s spot kick, Joe Willock sent Arsenal through.
Arsenal maybe weren’t at their best, but did enough to make it through, and will now be dreaming of more silverware under Arteta.

One player who really starred last night as Gabriel Magalhaes, as the summer signing from Lille racked up four clearances, two tackles and two interceptions in a strong display.
Fans took to Twitter to hail the Brazilian, branding him ‘world class’ and ‘sensational’ after his display at Anfield.
Others backed him to be as good as Virgil van Dijk one day, with a belief that he is a ‘bargain’ and the ‘signing of the window’.
