The Arsenal playmaker was omitted from Unai Emery’s latest squad.

Arsenal fans on Twitter are nonplussed by Unai Emery’s decision not to bring Mesut Ozil on the club’s trip to Germany.
The Gunners visit Eintracht Frankfurt in their Europa League opener on Thursday but the mercurial German playmaker was conspicuous by his absence.
Ozil made his first Premier League appearance of the season in the 2-2 draw at Watford on Sunday, lasting 71 minutes before being replaced.
The former Real Madrid star did not appear to fall injured at Vicarage Road, prompting a lot of confusion from Arsenal fans over why Emery left him in London.
Here’s their reaction to the snub:
It remains to be seen whether Ozil is legitimately ill or injured, or whether Emery simply doesn’t fancy him at the moment.
Ozil has never quite been a huge player under the Spaniard following Arsene Wenger’s departure. Even under Wenger, Ozil was quite an enigmatic figure, but he is far less prominent since the Frenchman left.
