Arsenal are believed to be in the market for a new striker, and Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin is now one of Edu’s top targets.

Alexandre Lacazette’s contract expires at the end of the season and it doesn’t look like he will be offered a new deal.

The Frenchman is likely to leave for free, and Arsenal are already looking towards potential replacements for next summer.

The Sun claim that one of Edu’s top targets to replace Lacazette is Everton hitman Calvert-Lewin.

Calvert-Lewin, 24, hit 16 Premier League goals last season and already has three in three this term.

Big, physical, athletic, hard-working and always a threat in the air, Calvert-Lewin is different to anything Arsenal currently have.

Everton won’t sell easily and Arsenal will have to dig deep to sign Calvert-Lewin, but he appears to be an exciting target.

Arsenal fans react to Calvert-Lewin rumours

Arsenal supporters have been reacting on Twitter, admitting they are ‘over the moon’ with the Gunners targeting Calvert-Lewin.

Others believe Calvert-Lewin would be an ‘absolute dream’, believing he would be a great fit under Mikel Arteta.

Some are excited by the prospect of Kieran Tierney crossing towards Calvert-Lewin, feeling they can strike up an outstanding link.

There were some fans believing that Calvert-Lewin is the best option Arsenal can go for if they can’t get Erling Haaland.

The general consensus is that Calvert-Lewin would be ideal for Arsenal right now, and fans hope to see him join in 2022.
