Arsenal may have a midfield problem come January, and they are now being linked with a shock move for Real Madrid’s Dani Ceballos.
The Africa Cup of Nations will see Arsenal lose both Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny to Ghana and Egypt respectively.
Elneny is even being linked with a move away whilst Granit Xhaka may take some time to come back from injury.
That may mean that Mikel Arteta goes into the January transfer market for a midfield signing.
El Nacional in Spain now claim that Arsenal are actually keeping tabs on the situation of Real Madrid misfit Ceballos.
The 25-year-old spent two seasons on loan at Arsenal, failing to really live up to expectations.
Now back with Real Madrid, Ceballos hasn’t played a senior game this season and looks set to leave in 2022.

Given that Ceballos blew hot and cold at Arsenal in two loan spells, this rumour maybe isn’t so popular.
Arsenal fans have been taking to Twitter to react to the Ceballos rumours, believing the the Gunners simply don’t need him.
Others think that Ceballos had his chance – more than enough of them – and failed to impress in an Arsenal shirt.
Some even claim that Arsenal are above Ceballos now, telling the club to not even dare move for Ceballos again.
