Cesc Fabregas moved a step closer to winning his second Premier League title with Chelsea last night, inspiring them to victory over Middlesbrough.
The Spanish international played a key role at Chelsea recorded an easy win, moving to within just three points of securing the title.
It will be Fabregas and Chelsea’s second title in three years, and makes Arsene Wenger’s decison not to bring him back to Arsenal in 2014 look particularly perplexing.

The Gunners were big favourites to re-sign him after giving him his big break in the game at 16 before he re-signed with his former academy side Barcelona in 2011.
At Arsenal, Fabregas fell short in his aspiration to win trophies, and became a big time winner at Barcelona.
He transferred this success to Chelsea, and after a slow start personally this season, has regained his place in the side and looked as good as ever last night.

The midfielder is still only 30 and has plenty more to offer. He can even rub salt in Arsenal’s wounds when the two sides face off in this month’s FA Cup final.
Arsenal fans reacted with dismay to yet another vintage Fabregas performance for Chelsea, questioning the Gunners’ lack of wisdom in failing to re-sign him, while others even suggested they try to buy him back.
