The LA Rams were victorious in Super Bowl LVI as Sean McVay’s side left it late to beat the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20.
An entertaining contents in California was decided in the final moments of the fourth quarter as the Rams scored two late touchdowns to secure their second Super Bowl title in the history of the franchise.
Owner Stan Kroenke took to the field to celebrate the win with the Rams, who became the first LA-based NFL team to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy, much to the dismay of Arsenal supporters.
The American businessman has been an unpopular figure with the north London faithful for some time, with supporters criticising Kroenke’s lack of investment and interest in the club.
Yet whilst some Arsenal fans watched on as Kroenke celebrated the Rams’ Super Bowl win, some supporters were theorising that manager Mikel Arteta had been a reason behind the historic win.
As per ESPN, Arteta held a two-hour meeting with Rams coach McVay to discuss training methods during the Covid-19 pandemic, with the Arsenal manager the main instigator for the conversation.
Indeed, the story gained traction last night as the Rams basked in their Super Bowl success as Arsenal fans jokingly made the connection that Arteta was a reason behind their historic win.
