As Arsenal succumbed to a pulsating 3-3 draw against Southampton, what Gabriel Jesus said after the contest is an even bigger worry in terms of their Premier League title hopes.

For those that missed one of the games of the season, it took a late two-goal comeback from the Gunners to rescue a point at the Emirates Stadium.

However, as Arsenal gifted Manchester City a league title boost against Southampton, Gabriel Jesus’ post-match admission might be an even bigger red flag.

What Jesus said after Arsenal drew to Southampton and why it is a league title worry

“Obviously we are the youngest team in the league. Not making excuses but that is a big thing. We have no experience as champions, sometimes we can do right, sometimes we can do wrong”

“That’s why it’s important to stick together”, the £45 million (Sky Sports) man said, as quoted by journalist Chris Wheatley.

While Gabriel Jesus did go on to emphasise that Arsenal still have full faith in their league title hopes, it is concerning that he made this admission and that too after a shock result against Southampton.

Throughout the season, Gary Neville in particular alongside other sceptics have counted this young ensemble out due to their inexperience.

However, Mikel Arteta’s youthful bunch have proven them wrong time and again, proving that that are indeed in it to win it.

As Arsenal drew to Southampton, leaving their league title dream in jeopardy, this admission from a leader in the dressing room such as Gabriel Jesus reinforces the belief that this team may not be ready to get over the line.

It also supports the idea that perhaps the league leaders are indeed crumbling under the pressure and when the tough gets going, they simply cannot.

Wednesday night presents this side to effectively settle which city the domestic crown heads towards against Pep Guardiola’s juggernaut.

But as Arsenal drew to Southampton, it almost seems like Gabriel Jesus is already dreading the tall task of facing Manchester City and has surrendered defeat to them in the league title race.

Considering the visitors already enter the title decider at the Etihad Stadium as underdogs, the Brazilian international has not done much to ease his teammates and the fanbase’s fears by almost confirming the suspicions about this collective on a night to forget.
