Gary Neville has claimed on Instagram live that ‘Arsenal fans aren’t happy’ that they have to play on Monday night and then on Friday evening.
Arsenal will take on Crystal Palace this evening in a London derby, when Highbury legend Patrick Vieira will take to the Emirates touchline for the first time.
Then on Friday, it’s another home clash for Mikel Arteta’s side, when they take on Aston Villa.
If the Gunners win both games, then it will be seen as a huge momentum boss heading into a busy few weeks for the club.
But if they drop points, then it’s easy, like many teams do, to be critical of the fixture schedule, but it’s not something the players aren’t used to.
Nonetheless, this is what Neville had to say about the Arsenal fans yesterday.
“We have got Arsenal coming on at Friday night this week (against Aston Villa),” said Neville. “And on Monday night (against Palace).
“Arsenal’s fans aren’t happy with me this week because they are on Monday and then Friday.
“So, there have been a couple of Arsenal fans that have whinged at me.”

This could be a defining week for Arsenal and one that could see them end up in the Champions League places.
If they beat Palace on Monday, then Villa on Friday, they will be sitting in fourth spot, albeit they would have played a game extra.
But given that it wasn’t so long ago that they were sitting below Norwich City, from a physiological standpoint, it will be a serious boost for the club and sign that they are on the up.
