Some Arsenal fans on Twitter are reacting to footage of Miguel Azeez.
Azeez left Arsenal to join Portsmouth on a season-long loan this past summer.
But it’s still been a difficult first experience of men’s football for the 20-year-old.
However, Azeez, who’s one of the club’s most talented academy players, scored his first goal for Pompey on Tuesday night.
Granted it was against Crystal Palace Under-21s in the Papa John’s Trophy, but it’s still a welcome confidence boost for the lad – and what a strike it was.
The Arsenal prospect, who’s been given just 76 minutes of League One football this season, found the top corner with that wand of a right foot from outside the box.
Here’s how some fans of the North London club are reacting on Twitter:
Recall
Because of his dismal amount of minutes in League One, there was talk of Arsenal pulling the plug on this experiment and recalling him in January.
And it must be stressed that despite his cracker last night, this still might materialise.
Not to discredit the goal, but it came against other youth players, the like of which he could’ve faced with Arsenal Under-23 side again this season.
The Gunners loaned him out to get experience in senior football and, as mentioned, 76 minutes isn’t too encouraging a return on that front.
