Ashley Cole has stated that Arsenal fans must be ‘buzzing’ that Bukayo Saka recently signed a new contract and believes the youngster is ‘definitely’ one for the future, as he told Sky Sports Football (04/07/20).

After watching Mikel Arteta’s side record a 2-0 win at Wolves on Saturday, and then watching Saka’s post-match interview, Cole shared how he thinks that the versatile attacker feels at ‘home’ with Arsenal.

It has been a breakthrough season for the Ealing-born teenager, who netted a brilliant goal for his side yesterday as they recorded a vital three points in their quest to finish in the European places.

After watching Saka’s post-match interview at Molineux, this is what Cole had to say about the rising star.

“Watching his interview, he feels that Arsenal is his home,” Cole told Sky Sports. “He’s a young kid. The group they have got around him, with extra young players is making him feel very welcome and at home.

“I bet Arsenal fans are buzzing that he has signed [a new contract] and he definitely looks one for the future, that’s for sure.”

Looking back on it all, it has been yet another bleak season for the Gunners, but the emergence of their youngsters and the arrival of Arteta is seemingly bringing some light into the Emirates Stadium.

If Arsenal can secure European football for the next campaign then it will be a sigh of relief for the fans because they have made something of a season that was heading into the wrong direction when Unai Emery was in charge.

Whilst Emery’s reign ended in a draining fashion, one great thing he did was introduce Saka onto the Premier League stage.
