Arsenal are reportedly considering a shock move to bring Alexis Sanchez back to The Emirates with Inter possible terminating his contract – a player Santi Cazorla once said was the “best signing of the season” in 2014-15.
Sanchez, now 33, has been reduced to a bit-part role at Inter. While he played 39 times for the Nerrazzuri last season, 30 of those appearances came from the bench. He still had a hand in 14 goals for Simone Inzaghi’s side.
Inter are desperately trying to save money where they can and Sanchez’s wage is something they will want to rid themselves of. He is currently earning £125,000 a week at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium.

That is according to La Tercera, who also report that Sanchez is a player Arsenal are keeping tabs on – four and a half years after selling to Manchester United. Cazorla thinks he was the best signing of the 2014-15 season.
“He is a very important for us,” Cazorla told BT Sport during the Fletch & Sav show in February 2015. “For me, I think he is the best signing in the Premier League. We are lucky he plays for us.”

Could he really go back to Arsenal? Clearly, he is not the player that finished the 14-15 season with stats of 25 goals and 12 assists in 52 appearances. But he is still a top-quality attacker, and Arsenal need depth.
They need additions out wide, especially if Nicolas Pepe departs. Eddie Nketiah has signed a new deal, but they also could do with another striker having qualified for the Europa League. Unlikely, but it would delight Arsenal fans.
