Arsenal want to bring Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin to North London in 2022 as a replacement for Alexandre Lacazette.

That’s according to The Sun, who claim that Arsenal have started eyeing up strikers ahead of Lacazette’s contract expiring next summer.

Lacazette earns around £150,000-a-week at Arsenal and has allegedly been offered to AC Milan ahead of his deal expiring.

It looks unlikely that Lacazette will be given a new contract, and Arsenal will be looking to land a younger goalscorer to support Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Calvert-Lewin to Arsenal emerges again

The Telegraph reported over the summer that Arsenal were considering a £50million move for Calvert-Lewin.

These new claims absolutely make sense as a result – especially when you consider Arsenal’s recruitment of other England internationals Aaron Ramsdale and Ben White.

Calvert-Lewin is a proven Premier League goalscorer having buried 16 goals last season.

Add that to 13 goals in the 2019-20 campaign and Calvert-Lewin has become a major threat.

Big, physical and ‘very fast’ according to Tosin Adarabioyo, Calvert-Lewin is different to anything Arsenal have right now.

Everton won’t sell cheaply, and Arsenal may need to dig deep to make a deal happen.

Calvert-Lewin loves Thierry Henry

Calvert-Lewin does have a small tie to Arsenal – his love for Thierry Henry.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Calvert-Lewin admitted that Henry was one of his two idols alongside Ronaldinho.

Calvert-Lewin would always try and get Arsenal shirts with Henry on the back, showing his love for the Frenchman.

The chance to play in that famous red and white shirt, just like Henry, could be very appealing to Calvert-Lewin.
