Paul Merson has urged Arsenal in The Daily Star to bring Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin to the Emirates Stadium in the summer of 2022.
The former Arsenal star believes that Everton striker Calvert-Lewin is perfect for Mikel Arteta’s side.
The Sky Sports pundit has outlined the attributes of the England international striker, and believes that Arsenal should start talking to Premier League rivals Everton over making a deal in the summer of 2022.
Merson wrote in The Daily Star: “Dominic Calvert-Lewin is a perfect fit for Arsenal and they should break the bank to sign him next summer. Arsenal need a world class centre forward. They’ve just saved £25m in wages getting rid of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
“And they tried to spend big on Dusan Vlahovic so we know the money is there. They should be talking to Everton about Calvert-Lewin already.
“Calvert-Lewin is young and hungry. He will be England’s first choice No 9 in years to come. He holds the ball up very well and he works his socks off up front.
“I’ve seen some centre forwards in my time and he works as hard as any of them. Plus he’s good in the air and he scores goals. I’d be doing that deal now!
“He’s only going to get better and he ticks the boxes. He’d be joining a squad full of young, hungry England players that could all grow together.”

Could Arsenal sign Dominic Calvert-Lewin from Everton?
In our view, Arsenal could secure the services of Calvert-Lewin from Everton in the summer of 2022.
Now, of course, we know that Everton are a big and established club in the Premier League.
And the Toffees have also recently appointed Frank Lampard as the manager.
However, Arsenal are a bigger club and a global brand, and they could finish in the Premier League top four this season.
And the Gunners could afford the striker, especially as they need a replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
West Ham want £60 million for Calvert-Lewin, according to The Sun in January 2022.
The 24-year-old earns £72,000 per week as salary, according to SalarySport.
We think that Arsenal could afford the transfer fee and the striker’s salary.
In our opinion, Calvert-Lewin himself could be tempted to leave for Arsenal and lead the line for Arteta’s side.
