Arsenal are through to the last eight of the Carabao Cup having beaten Leeds United 2-0 on Tuesday night, with Gabriel Martinelli impressing Emiliano Martinez.

The Gunners needed two second half goals to claim the win, with Calum Chambers and Eddie Nketiah finding the net.

After a flat first-half display, Arsenal were better after the break and did enough to claim a fairly comfortable win.

Mikel Arteta will now hope to win silverware this season with Arsenal moving forward in the Carabao Cup.

Arteta gave a chance to some fringe players, with winger Martinelli handed a chance to shine on the left flank.

The Brazilian had two shots and three successful dribbles, but didn’t quite come up with the end product.

Martinelli took to Instagram to celebrate Arsenal’s win, and Martinez responded with just one word.

‘Fenomeno’, Martinez called Martinelli – translated as ‘phenomenon’.

Some may recall Ronaldo being called O Fenomeno back in the day, and Arsenal fans would love Martinelli to become even half the player.

Tuesday’s performance was another step forward, and it’s clear that Martinelli impressed Martinez.
