Arsenal defender Brooke Norton-Cuffy is being offered a new contract to stay at the club – and he looks set to accept the offer.

With Hale End talents like Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe are thriving in the Arsenal first team right now, giving other youngsters real hope.

For any young Arsenal player needing some inspiration for the future, they only need to look at how Saka and Smith Rowe have developed.

There are particularly high hopes for right back Norton-Cuffy, who has been shining on loan at Lincoln City down in League One.

Norton-Cuffy scored a stunning goal for Lincoln against Sheffield Wednesday earlier this month, earning the nickname ‘Brooke Norton-Cafu’ in a comparison to the Brazilian legend Cafu.

This weekend wasn’t quite as successful for Norton-Cuffy as he was sent off for a clash with Wimbledon defender Lee Brown.

It didn’t harm Lincoln as they still won 2-0, but this will have been a real learning experience for the 18-year-old talent.

Imps boss Michael Appleton has admitted that he thinks Norton-Cuffy will become a first-team player at Arsenal one day.

That may be some way off yet, but it seems that Arsenal believe the teenager has a huge future ahead of him in North London.

The Athletic report that Arsenal have offered Norton-Cuffy a new long-term contract with Edu seemingly convinced that he can be a key player down the line.

Norton-Cuffy is expected to accept the offer, committing his future to the club despite other Premier League teams being interested in signing him.

It’s a long road to the level of Saka and Smith Rowe, but this new contract could put Norton-Cuffy firmly on that track.
