Paul Merson has said on Sky Sports News (2pm, February 12, 2022) that Dusan Vlahovic took the easy option to move to Juventus instead of joining Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
The former Arsenal star and Sky Sports pundit is critical of Vlahovic for not making the switch to the Gunners from Fiorentina.
The 22-year-old Serbia international striker moved to Italian and European giants Juventus from Serie A rivals Fiorentina in the January transfer window.
Sky Sports reported that Juventus had to pay Fiorentina £62.8 million for the striker.
The report added that Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur also wanted to sign Vlahovic.
90min reported in January that the Serbian wants to join Juventus ahead of Arsenal.
Merson said on Sky Sports News (2pm, February 12, 2022): “They went for the lad at Fiorentina, and he chose to go to Juventus.
“For me, I think he took the easy way out, in my opinion. I think he took the easy way out.”

Arsenal missed out on a gem in Dusan Vlahovic
In our opinion, Vlahovic would have been a great signing for Arsenal and would have made them hugely potent in attack.
After all, the Serbian is a goal machine.
The youngster scored 21 goals in 40 appearances for Fiorentina last season and scored 20 goals in 24 games in all competitions this campaign before moving to Juventus in the January transfer window.
Vlahovic has scored one goal in two Serie A appearances already for Juventus.
In our view, the striker cannot be criticised for choosing Juventus over Arsenal.
Juventus are the biggest club in Italy and one of the biggest in the world who regularly challenge for top honours and compete in the Champions League.
