Paul Merson has urged Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in The Daily Star to bring Dusan Vlahovic to the Emirates Stadium in the summer of 2022.
The Sky Sports pundit believes that Arsenal should offer Vlahovic a lot of money to convince him to make the move from Fiorentina to the Gunners.
The former Arsenal striker has said that the Serbia international striker will make the Gunners contenders for the Premier League title next season.
The Athletic have reported that Arsenal are the best-placed side to sign Vlahovic in the January transfer window.
Merson wants Dusan Vlahovic at Arsenal
Merson wrote about Vlahovic in The Daily Star: “They should be breaking the bank to get Dusan Vlahovic in from Fiorentina in the summer – because he would make them title contenders.
“I’ve heard he’s not interested in Arsenal right now and I can understand that. But he might change his mind if they finish in the top four and offer him a lorryload of money.
“Arsenal would be able to play him every week because Aubameyang will be gone. Alexandre Lacazette will probably be gone. And so will Eddie Nketiah.
“They will need a goalscorer, and Vlahovic scores goals. He’s also still young so he should get better and you’t not wasting money paying a 29-year-old on the way down.”

Could Arsenal transfer happen?
In our view, Arsenal could sign Vlahovic from Fiorentina in the summer of 2022.
The striker has already said that he does not plan to leave Fiorentina in the January transfer window.
But, in our opinion, a transfer could happen at the end of the season.
Yes, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are among the clubs interested in Vlahovic, but Arsenal should not consider themselves behind them.
The Gunners are doing well in the Premier League and could end up in the Champions League places this season.
Champions League football will surely be enticing to Vlahovic, who has scored 16 goals and provided two assists in 19 Serie A matches for Fiorentina so far this season.
