Arsenal defender Nuno Tavares has said on the Counter Attack Podcast that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will lose the UEFA Champions League final against Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid.
Premier League club Liverpool will take on La Liga outfit Madrid in the 2022 UEFA Champions League final at Stade de France in Saint-Denis on Saturday.
Arsenal left-back Tavares has backed Madrid to get the better of Liverpool and win Europe’s premier club competition.

Tavares said on the Counter Attack Podcast, as transcribed by RousingTheKop: “Real Madrid. Because they are on fire this season.
“It’s 11 against 11, Liverpool are really, really good. They look forward all the time and don’t let the other team breathe but it will be a good fight.”
Who’ll win 2022 UEFA Champions League final?
In our opinion, Liverpool will head into the UEFA Champions League final against Real Madrid as flight favourites.
Liverpool do have one of the best squads in Europe, and they have truly terrific attacking unit.
Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Roberto Firmino, Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane all are quality players.
Yes, Madrid have a superb starting lineup, but the likes of Isco, Gareth Bale and Eden Hazard have not been at their best for a while and are unlikely to start.
Ancelotti may not get much out of them off the bench.
Having said that, we cannot ignore how Madrid saw off Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Manchester City in the previous rounds on their way to the final.
