Holding a Colombian passport as well as Spanish citizenship, Mosquera is fully eligible to make the switch, and Colombia are keen to secure his commitment ahead of any potential senior call-up from Spain.
With the World Cup on the horizon, joining Colombia’s senior squad could fast-track his international career. But there’s always risk in these decisions – what looks like a clear path now can quickly become complicated later on.
