Arsenal want Declan Rice and there is now a belief that West Ham United will be willing to sell the midfielder for around £60million.

That’s according to The Mirror, who claim that Arsenal will focus on a summer move for Rice.

That has been the rumour for a couple of weeks now with Arsenal seemingly having genuine hope of a deal.

Arsenal seem to be focusing on a defensive midfielder or maybe even two given their interest in Moises Caicedo.

Arsenal want competition for Thomas Partey and could end up spending huge cash on Caicedo and Rice.

There would also be the potential for Rice to play a little further forward and utilise his ability on the ball just like Granit Xhaka.

It’s stated that Rice is expected to move on for a fee in the region of £60million – a far cry from what David Moyes has previously been seeking.

David Moyes previously wanted £100m+ for Arsenal target Declan Rice

Moyes has witness Rice’s rise to stardom at West Ham, going all the way back to his start as a centre back in the 2017-18 season.

Now a dominant midfield player, Rice has been outstanding for West Ham with more than 200 appearances to his name.

Moyes previously suggest that Rice was worth around £100million, and then claimed last season that price tag was ‘cheap’ because he then wanted an even bigger fee.

The problem for West Ham is Rice’s contract.

The 24-year-old is out of contract in 2024 although the club do have a one-year option as part of the deal.

Rice’s value will gradually diminish if he heads into 2024 as a West Ham player, and Arsenal are looking to take advantage.

Rice has allegedly snubbed an eight-year deal to stay at West Ham and, sadly for the Hammers, it looks like a parting of the ways is inevitable.

£60million still seems a little cheap though, especially with Caicedo being valued at more than that, and we can see an Arsenal deal for the England international topping £70million this summer.
