Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha has been criticised for his performance against Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

Zaha will have been hoping to make a big impact at the Emirates Stadium and actually rattled the woodwork with a first-half strike.

It was all downhill from there though as Arsenal ran out 4-1 winners, sweeping Zaha’s Eagles aside.

Pundit Stephen Warnock really wasn’t impressed with Zaha’s performance and slammed him on NBC Sports after 86 minutes of Sunday’s game.

Warnock watched as Zaha was easily robbed of possession by Kieran Tierney with another potential Palace attack went awry.

Warnock noted that Zaha lost possession ‘time and time again’ and was caught giving the ball away far too easily on numerous occasions.

“That’s poor from Zaha,” said Warnock. “It’s happened time and time again where the ball has gone up to him, he has to protect it better – he has lost it far too easily, far too many times,” he added.

WhoScored tracked that Zaha was dispossessed six times and had five ‘unsuccessful touches’ – the most of any Palace player in both categories.

Wilfried Zaha is still being linked with Arsenal

Zaha is out of contract at the end of the season and looks set to leave Palace on a free transfer.

Sunday’s performance was a poor one for Zaha but he is actually still the source of transfer rumours linking him to Arsenal.

TalkSPORT reported just a couple of weeks ago that Arsenal and Chelsea both fancy signing Zaha for free this summer.

You have to imagine that Zaha would jump at the chance to join Arsenal if the offer was on the table.

Zaha was allegedly a boyhood Arsenal fan and his brother Judicael was quoted in 2019 as saying the winger dreams of playing for the Gunners.

Zaha has even previously admitted that the Emirates Stadium is his favourite away ground, so he would surely love to play there regularly.

It would be a surprise too see Arsenal add another experienced winger after landing Leandro Trossard in January, and a difficult appearance on Sunday didn’t really do Zaha many favours.
