The report has claimed that Arsenal made contact with the representatives of Zubimendi and considered making a bid for Zubimendi.
Arsenal could try again for the 24-year-old defensive midfielder in January 2024, but that move would depend on whether Thomas Partey leaves the Gunners.
Partey was linked with moves away from Arsenal in the summer transfer window, but the Ghana international defensive midfielder is still at the Emirates Stadium.
The 30-year-old has suffered an injury and could be on the sidelines for weeks now.
Arsenal may not find it too easy to sign Zubimendi in the middle of the season.
Real Sociedad are a big club in Spain.
Sociedad finished fourth in the La Liga table last season and will play in the UEFA Champions League this campaign.
Imanol Alguacil’s side will aim to end up in the top four again this season.
If Sociedad are in and around the La Liga top four in the middle of the campaign and also manage to progress to the knockout rounds of the UEFA Champions League, then they are unlikely to be willing to part company with any of their best players, including Zubimendi.
