According to 90Min, Arsenal are interested in a move for Raheem Sterling this summer.

The winger isn’t having the best of times at Chelsea, and after the arrival of Mykhaylo Mudryk, his place in the starting XI is far from guaranteed.

Sterling is seemingly keen to move on from Stamford Bridge at this point, and a move to Arsenal could make a lot of sense for the England international.

Indeed, not only does the winger know Mikel Arteta well from his time at Manchester City, he also knows Gabriel Jesus very well from their time together at the Etihad, and these two did form quite the partnership over that period.

In fact, Sterling is Jesus’ second-most prolific partner in his career when it comes to joint goal participations, only bettered by Kevin De Bruyne, and the numbers suggest that Jesus clicks with Sterling more than he does with either Bukayo Saka or Gabriel Martinelli.

Indeed, Sterling and Jesus combined for 19 goals in 8,933 minutes together for Manchester City, and while that doesn’t sound too impressive, that’s one goal every 470 minutes.

In contrast, both Saka and Martinelli aren’t getting near those numbers alongside Jesus at Arsenal.

He’s only combined with Martinelli for one goal in 1,302 minutes together, while with Saka it’s one goal in 1,306 minutes.

These three look like they’ve formed a brilliant understanding together under Mikel Arteta, but in terms of direct goals and assists, their numbers are lacking compared to what Jesus had with Sterling.

Granted, it is a much smaller sample size and Jesus hasn’t been at Arsenal for as long as he was at Manchester City, but the stats are still there for all to see.

Sterling and Jesus were brilliant together at City, and if Arteta can reunite this partnership at Arsenal, the Gunners’ attack could become even more dangerous than it already is.
