Arsenal fans will very much want some more new signings this summer.

It’s already been a very decent window for the Gunners, who have signed Willian, Gabriel Magalhaes and Dani Ceballos, the latter of whom has returned to North London on loan from Real Madrid.

But with a month still left to go in the transfer window, Arsenal fans still want more as Mikel Arteta prepares for a first full season in charge of the club, after replacing Unai Emery in December.

Equally important, the Emirates Stadium faithful want to keep key personnel – and they don’t come much more important than Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The former Borussia Dortmund hitman only has nine months left on his contract and there’s been a bit of speculation earlier in the summer about him leaving.

But it’s already been reported over the past week that Aubameyang has put pen to paper on a new £250,o00-a-week deal.

And according to ESPN, Arsenal could make an announcement at some point before Saturday’s Premier League opener away to Fulham.

If and when this is announced, it’s probably bigger than any signing Arteta or Edu could possibly make.

That’s because Aubameyang has 54 goals in 86 Premier League games for the club, and scored a brace in a 2-1 FA Cup final win over Chelsea last month.

He’s an enormous player for Arsenal and the longer he stays, the better.
