If a new report is accurate, Arsenal fans might have to tailor their expectations in a big way.

The Gunners are being linked to quite a few big players as of late, including Thomas Partey.

If Arsenal sign the Atletico Madrid powerhouse, it’ll cost them a whopping £45 million [The Telegraph].

But one report illustrates just how the North London club might not be able to spend anywhere near that amount going forward.

According to Goal.com, Arsenal stand to lose an eye-watering £144 million if the 2020-21 campaign is played behind closed doors due to the global health emergency.

Sky Sports has reported that next season could go ahead without fans inside the stadiums and that football will only return to normal once there’s a vaccine against the virus.

That’s a huge amount of money and it’s just impossible for the Emirates Stadium club to sign off on £45 million deals – not including wages – without knowing the full extent of this financial crisis.
