Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal could reportedly miss out on the signing of Victor Osimhen to Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea.
According to Football Transfers, Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in signing Victor Osimhen from Napoli in the summer of 2024.
Chelsea lead Arsenal in race for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen
The report has claimed that Chelsea are leading the race for Osimhen and are ahead of London and Premier League rivals Arsenal to secure the services of the 24-year-old Nigeria international striker, who was described as “incredible” by former Liverpool and Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli on Instagram in May 2023.
Football Transfers has claimed that Chelsea “have had multiple conversations” with Osimhen, adding that “there is a possibility that a deal may already have been agreed upon with the star”.

Arsenal Sporting Director Edu is reportedly personally trying to sign the striker and has already made contact with Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis to ask about signing the Nigerian star in the summer of 2024.
However, it seems that Arsenal could now struggle to convince Osimhen to move to the Emirates Stadium if, as Football Transfer suggests, a deal between the striker and Chelsea has already been agreed upon.
Arsenal target Victor Osimhen would be great for Chelsea
In our view, Arsenal transfer target Victor Osimhen would be a brilliant signing for Chelsea next summer.
Osimhen is one of the best strikers in the world and is still only 24.
The Nigerian is likely to improve and get better in the coming years.
The former Lille star has developed and grown a lot at Napoli in recent years, and we believe that he would be a very potent threat for Chelsea in attack.
Osimhen has scored three goals in three Serie A matches already for Napoli this season.
Last season, the Napoli no. 9 scored 26 goals and gave four assists in 30 Serie A starts and scored five goals in five UEFA Champions League starts.
