Arsenal have a big shopping list this summer.
There’s a lot of different positions that the Gunners will need to strengthen.
But goalkeeper is probably going to be one of them.
Bernd Leno is likely to leave the Emirates Stadium after falling out of favour under Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, who – quite rightly – prefers the services of Aaron Ramsdale.
And even though Matt Turner is arriving from the MLS, well it’s Major League Soccer and he’s unproven in European football.
Arsenal will still need a reliable and proven back-up option to Ramsdale next season – and a target from 2021 is reportedly still available.
According to a report from Sport in Spain this week, Barcelona now only want £12 million to sell Neto.
The Athletic reported last summer that the North Londoners wanted the Brazilian goalkeeper – labelled ‘phenomenal‘ by Ronald Koeman at Camp Nou – but they wound up signing Ramsdale instead.
However, with Leno probably leaving London and Turner being an unproven quantity, Arteta and Edu might still look at another stopper this summer and with Neto – who cost £29 million in 2019 – available for that amount, well the Emirates Stadium outfit may well take another look.
