The Spanish publication has claimed that the La Liga and UEFA Champions League winners will sell the Spain international, who can also operate as an attacking midfielder, for €50 million (£42.66 million).

Asensio is out of contract at Madrid in the summer of 2023, and he has told Los Blancos that he will not sign a new deal, according to Marca.

The Mirror have reported that Arsenal have made contact with the agents of Asensio, who has been offered to Tottenham Hotspur and AC Milan.

Should Arsenal pay £42.6m for Marco Asensio?

In our view, if €50 million (£42.66 million) is what it takes for Arsenal to sign Marco Asensio from Real Madrid in the summer transfer window, then they should pay it.

Yes, the 26-year-old is not a regular for Madrid, but that he has been on the books of Los Blancos since 2014 shows how highly he is rated.

Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti described Asensio as “a player with extraordinary quality” in AS in April 2022.

The attacker has won the La Liga title thrice and the UEFA Champions League on three occasions with Madrid.

Asensio would bring with him a winning mentality that could help Arsenal.
