It isn’t the high-profile player that fans wanted, but Arsenal have indeed made a signing.
The Gunners confirmed via their official website that they had signed Salah-Eddine.
The teenager – known as Salah, like the £200 million-rated Liverpool superstar – has signed a professional contract at Arsenal after leaving Feyenoord in February.
Salah will go into the academy set-up rather than compete for a spot in Mikel Arteta’s senior squad.
He is the latest teenage talent to join the North Londoners, after a move for George Lewis was confirmed earlier this week.
But there was a decent bit of speculation about Lewis joining over the past few months and there wasn’t many – if any – murmurs of this one before it happened.
Arsenal also signed another big talent in Tim Akinola this week, while Tottenham Hotspur youngster Jonathan Dinzeyi is also heading to London Colney, according to The Daily Mail [print edition, 19/08, page 77].
As exciting as these talents may be, Gunners fans are going to want announcements on the likes of Gabriel Magalhaes and Houssem Aouar, both of whom have been heavily linked.
