Arsenal’s Zech Medley was on the wrong side of another defeat whilst on loan this afternoon.
The towering Gunners defender, who stands at 6’4, was on the losing side as Gillingham went down 2-0 to Fleetwood Town.
This is the League One club’s third-straight defeat by that scoreline.
Gills boss Steve Evans had been using Medley as a centre-back throughout his loan spell so far, but the Arsenal youngster played as a left-back this afternoon.
And going by the stats, it could’ve gone better.
According to SofaScore ratings, Medley lost possession for Gillingham on 14 occasions, and failed to execute any key passes despite the more attacking role.
That being said, defensively the big man seemed sound, managing two interceptions and two blocked shots.
Medley has played as a left-back before for Arsenal’s Under-23s, but he is primarily a centre-back and maybe Evans will use him there in the future.
