Arsenal’s chase of Christopher Nkunku has become even trickier with Paris Saint-Germain desperate to re-sign him – especially if Neymar leaves.
That’s according to a report from Foot Mercato in France, who claim that PSG are the club who want to sign Nkunku ‘more than anything’.
Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are all named as being in the race to sign Nkunku.
Yet Nkunku is now considered to be a ‘summer priority’ for PSG with the French giants seemingly keen to rectify something of a mistake.
Nkunku was born in the east of Paris and came up through the PSG ranks from the age of just 13.
Yet come 2019, PSG sold Nkunku for just €13million (£11million) and he has become an absolute superstar with RB Leipzig.
In 40 games for Leipzig this season, Nkunku has racked up a frankly ridiculous 27 goals and 17 assists.
24-year-old Nkunku is reaching heights that PSG probably never expected from him, and now they want him to make the return to the Parc des Princes.
The report even adds that Nkunku will become an even bigger priority for PSG if Neymar leaves the club this summer.
Neymar has allegedly been offered to Barcelona and PSG are ready to strike for Nkunku with talks already underway with his representatives.
This could be a hugely exciting move for Nkunku, who may even be able to help keep Kylian Mbappe at the club given their friendship.

All of this is bad news for Arsenal, whose hopes of signing Nkunku will be severely dented by PSG joining the race.
Arsenal don’t have the emotional pull that PSG will have for Nkunku, but it’s worth asking where he would fit in anyway.
Nkunku, hailed as ‘special’ by Tyler Adams, is best as an attacking midfielder, but that’s where Martin Odegaard is shining for Arsenal.
Shoving Nkunku out wide or into a deep role just wouldn’t be right, especially when he would cost €70million (£58million).
Arsenal may be better off focusing elsewhere, with their window to sign Nkunku – a former Unai Emery target – potentially gone.
