Arsenal have spent time chasing Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak, but he could end up joining bitter rivals Chelsea instead.
Arsenal were in the market for a new striker during the January transfer window but couldn’t convince Dusan Vlahovic to join them.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang still left for Barcelona and Folarin Balogun was loaned out to Barcelona earlier in the window.
Add in that Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette are both out of contract this summer and Arsenal desperately need a striker this summer.
Football London claim that one of the top targets is Isak, with Edu working hard on a deal to bring him to Arsenal before the transfer deadline.
No deal was done though, with Isak having a huge £75million release clause in his Sociedad deal.
The La Liga side don’t seem all that keen on selling at a discount, so Arsenal will have to dig very, very deep for Isak’s signature.
The Sun did note just a few days ago that Isak is a top target for Arsenal this summer, but there could yet be a twist in the tale.
The Mirror now claim that Manchester United and Chelsea have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Isak this summer.

United allegedly see Isak as the man to replace Cristiano Ronaldo up top if the Portuguese attacker wants to leave.
Romelu Lukaku’s future at Chelsea remains unclear and the Blues are looking towards Isak as a possible successor.
To make matters worse, it’s stated that Arsenal will struggle to convince Isak to join unless they qualify for the Champions League.
With the young Swede seemingly going to the top of the game, Arsenal now face a real fight in their pursuit of the striker.
