Tony Pulis has praised Jorginho after the midfielder chose to leave Chelsea for a move to London rivals Arsenal on deadline day.
The Gunners were desperate to sign a new midfielder before the January window slammed shut.
A deal for Brighton and Hove Albion ace Moises Caicedo just wasn’t possible so Arsenal had to look elsewhere.
It became clear that Arsenal’s top target heading into deadline day was Chelsea midfielder Jorginho.
Mikel Arteta has long been a big fan of the Italian and actually targeted him in 2020, before Arsenal secured Thomas Partey’s signature.
Arsenal finally landed Jorginho on Tuesday well in advance of the deadline, meaning he will now end up as cover and competition for Partey in holding midfield.

The deal has divided opinion amongst Arsenal fans and pundits.
Some think that Jorginho is exactly the kind of experienced, proven winner that Arsenal need in their push for the Premier League title.
Others believe Jorginho slows the game down too much and committing hefty wages to a 31-year-old is a move the Arsenal of old would have made.
Arsenal just have to trust that Arteta’s admiration of Jorginho pays off moving forward.
One man who really likes the move if Tony Pulis, with the former Stoke City boss speaking about Jorginho on deadline day.
Pulis told Sky Sports that he thinks Jorginho is a ‘decent signing’ given that he isn’t exactly breaking the bank at the Emirates Stadium.
Pulis adds that he has been told Jorginho is a ‘great professional’, with contacts in the game seemingly impressed with the Italian.
The Welshman added that Jorginho might slow down Arsenal’s style of play but thinks his experience and winning mentality will be valuable for the Gunners.
“For the price they’re paying, I think he’s a good signing,” said Pulis. “If Arsenal have got injuries in midfield and they need to fill it up, I think he is a decent signing. They tell me he’s a great professional, he’s a different type of player.”
“Arsenal have really, really impressed me this year because they play through the pitch quickly, they’ve got the two wide and players and they’re always looking to play wide and stretch the game. He might slow that up a little bit but personally, for the fee they’re paying, for such an experienced player, and a winner… it’s a good deal,” he added.
